Laura Butler
founder

Laura Butler founded Butler Interior Design after two different, yet complementary career paths aligned. While working in forensic accounting for a federal agency, she was passionately moved to change careers after investing in several design-build projects and assisting a national nonprofit building ADA compliant homes for injured combat veterans. With a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University, Laura relocated to Vail, Colorado where she traveled the country designing high-end residential and light commercial projects. Upon earning her NCIDQ certification, she returned home to the Eastern Shore of Maryland to form Butler Interior Design. With projects nationwide, the Butler team is comprised of degreed design professionals providing technical expertise, efficient project and budget management, and thoughtful attention to detail throughout the design process. This structure within the creative process allows clients to refine their unique vision and find a calm confidence as they navigate the innumerate decisions required of custom building. Butler Interior Design embraces their role as a collaborative member of each project team, finding the greatest fulfillment in being on jobsites with the talented tradesman responsible for bringing each construction drawing to life.
